In September, SANY’s service team in South Korea received an urgent task—a local customer requested an upgrade for a 60-ton crawler crane on short notice. Upgrading the entire vehicle is very complicated and time-consuming as it requires a complete disassembly of the vehicle. The whole process involves separating the foundation and platform, replacing the circuit completely, changing hydraulic and other related pipelines, and upgrading the cab structure. Typically, such an upgrade would take over a month in the factory and necessitate the use of an assembly line.
In the case of the heavy workload and tight schedule, resident service engineers Mr. Han Ming and Mr. Xiao Yisheng reached out to the SANY Crane Division in China for assistance. In response, SANY immediately dispatched a team of four led by Mr. Xia Xin, the project manager of the 60-ton crawler crane. In addition to the shortage of hands and tight schedule, the challenge was further compounded by the gap between an open-ground environment and the specialized assembly line typically used for such work.
September 17th is the Mid-Autumn Festival in China and also the reunion day in South Korea. However, the service team was still working around to solve various problems and meet the deadline. They began their work in the early morning and often didn’t finish work until 7 to 8 in the evening. Finally, through unremitting efforts, the upgraded vehicle was delivered to the customer 10 days ahead of schedule.
The customer highly appreciated the fast response and professional spirit of SANY’s service team. In the future, SNAY’s service team will remain focused on continuous improvement, ready to tackle future challenges with the same spirit of collaboration and dedication.
